WITHOUT CHRIST NOTHING MAKES SENSE

Devotional for Monday, January 24, 2022

Morning Galatians 2:20

Noon Psalms 3

Evening Mathew 28:18-20

People who do not know Christ ask me about why we Christians pray for everything and continue reading the Bible, even after we have read it several times. Others ask me about my “addiction” to church stuff.

It's like trying to explain what the sky is like to someone who has never seen it. Even so, it is necessary to make them understand that without Christ nothing makes sense for us; thus, we look for Him frequently, like we are addicted to His presence. How could we not be– If in His presence, our hearts are filled with so much joy that it threatens to burst out of our chest.

Many times with the questions, there are genuine opportunities to speak of the Lord. I know many try to diminish our faith with their questions, but we have to remember that their questioning is a manifestation of the emptiness they have in their lives for not having Christ.

Nothing is impossible for God, so let us take advantage of every opportunity to sow and let us wait for Him to do His work changing and restoring a life with His touch as He once did with ours.

Morning Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Noon Psalms 3

1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Evening Mathew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
