ARE YOU PREPARED FOR EMERGENCIES?

Devotional for Monday March 21, 2022

Morning Matthew 24:27-37

Noon Psalm 15

Evening Luke 12:35-40

When Jesus confronted the demon that was possessing the son of a man, he said, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29), and immediately He healed him. However, when we know about someone who needs to be healed, we say: "Let's get prepared this week and then we will pray for them". What does this mean? It means that we are not prepared for emergencies, for problems that suddenly occur; it means that our fasting and prayer life is not the healthiest; it means that we are almost but not fully ready, that we only line up and seek the Lord's face when an emergency appears.

This should not be so, because the Bible urges us to be always prepared, always ready: "Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is ready, but the flesh is sick" (Matthew 26:41). It is better to act than to imagine; let us be prudent and, with God's help, let us always remain prepared.

"Blessed are those servants whom their lord, when he cometh, shall find watching; verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and shall come and serve them" (Luke 12:37).

Morning Matthew 24:27-37

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Noon Psalm 15

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Evening Luke 12:35-40

35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not

Prayer Guide: [México-Tierra y Libertad] and [Cuba-Colón]

March's challenge: Do everything possible so that your life can be a visible testimony to all men as Christians living in the likeness of Christ. Everyday, praise your Creator. Keep a constant praise on your lips. Listen to Christian praise and worship music with your family. Go to Church, not only to be a spectator, but a worshiper. Worship as you pray, worship as you read the Bible, worship in your illness, always worship.
