Devotional for Sunday April17, 2022
Morning Genesis 8:20-22
Noon Psalm 19
Evening Matthew 24:29-35
Autumn is the season of refreshing air, with its pleasant
and exquisite breeze that anticipates the arrival of winter. In autumn, the trees are dressed in different colors, embellishing God's beautiful creation.
In the same way we can contemplate autumn in our lives, losing the energy that seems perennial in youth. But, even if we are in autumn, if we have lived our lives well, it will be full of God's grace and will have the beautiful colors of autumn. If the Spirit of God has been the wind that has shaken our insides, if Jesus Christ has been the tree that has filled our lives with color, we will know that when we enter winter, a glorious morning awaits us with the Lord.
We have to bless God in the spring, which brings its shoots with each new creature. Let us bless the Lord in the summer, for his long and light-filled days. We must also bless Him in the fall, because it heralds winter, which, although it sometimes comes with a merciless cold, we know it will be short and when it passes, we will sing again.

Morning Genesis 8:20-22
Noon Psalm 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Evening Matthew 24:29-35
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

The Challange for the Month: Search for scriptures that describe God's character, and then take time to do a Bible study to reflect on how you can apply those characteristics in your own life. Remember that you are an ambassador of God who should strive to represent him in a worthy manner. Find out what are the requirements God has for those who are citizens of HIS kingdom. Apply those requirements in your life and pray daily for these things.
