Devotional for Friday June 24, 2022
Our place was on a broken chair, abandoned and desolate in despair. Our place was in a volcano that burned without stopping, in a sea of sand with nothing to drink and nothing to cover us with from the burning rays of the sun. We were deceived by our own judgment, condemned by our sin, sitting in the dock of the guilty and subject to our fallen will. The pain of pride and the calamity of our intellect led us to speculate about the unfairness of our situation, believing that by our own words, skills, and attitudes would free us from the sentence that was ours, which was impossible to invalidate. However, amid such a situation, we met the Giver of life. Today we feel that we are sitting in a heavenly place, at table with the Master and Lord of our souls, sitting in church or in our prayer room in the presence of God. Something beautiful has changed our existence. Christ gave us his love, his shoulder, a place in his kingdom and a new name. Let us give thanks for receiving what we did not deserve.

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

This month's challenge is: Think before you judge or act.
Ask yourself at all times: how would I want to be treated if I were in that condition? Always remember Jesus' advice: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged: condemn not, and you will not be condemned: forgive, and you will be forgiven."
