HOW ARE YOUR GARMENTS?

Devotional for December 3, 2021

Morning Ephesians 6:11-18

Noon Psalms 125

Evening Romans 13:13,14

How are your spiritual garments before God? How are you doing in your walk with the Lord? If you are not clothed with Christ, you still have time to make this important decision. As it says in his Word: “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Ephesians 6:11). Take time to reflect and meditate. First and foremost, use the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Be a doer of the word—that is to say, put it into action—with the purpose of proclaiming the Gospel. Next, pray and fast in the Spirit with fervor in order to resist every temptation of the enemy. Lastly, draw near to God, which is the only way to know Him more and to do His will. It is time to stand firm, to respond, to create, to build. Do not limit the time you dedicate to working in the vineyard of the Lord; it will yield the best return. There is no time to waste. Do not get distracted with things that are obstacles to your spiritual growth. You do not need soap and water to whiten your garments—you only need Jesus. Choose Him today.

May your garments be Christlike.

Morning Ephesians 6:11-18

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Noon Psalms 125

1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

Evening Romans 13:13,14

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
