THE BEST WONDERS

October 28, 2021

Morning Genesis 1:26

Noon Psalms 5

Evening Psalms 8:5

The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World were a collection of architectural works, especially from the Hellenistic period; they were considered worth visiting, as they were famous monuments of the creation of the ancient world. Among them are the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. All these wonders were built with a goal, an end, but ... Do you know which is the best of all the wonders of the world? It’s you. Yes! God created you in his image and likeness, none of these relevant constructions would have been made if it not were for you. Today, many of these wonders are preserved in a brief literary description, but not their real image. Nothing on earth will be forever, everything perishes, everything ends, nothing remains. Let yourself be sculpted by God and become the masterpiece God wants you to become. Don’t allow yourself to be like the ancient works, of which only their names remain. Be the authentic splendid architectural work that God wants. Don’t be dazzled by the things of this world or by the works that you see. Don’t forget the foundation of each monument is what allowed it to become a world wonder, and thus your foundation should be Christ.

You are the best wonder that God created.

Morning Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [g]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Noon Psalms 5

1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Evening Psalms 8:5

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
