Devotional for Friday June 10, 2022
When you know true love, you learn to value your family, to give it the place it deserves, you begin to love yourself without selfishness or lies; you understand the meaning of loving your neighbor and, above all, you love your heavenly Father and your Savior. Looking at the past, you realize that before you didn't really love, it was just an equivocal and humanistic feeling. Perhaps for many this sounds hard and difficult, but it is the reality; true love is only known and lived when it has been restored and has a new life in Christ, because God is true love. When you know him, you have that privilege granted by our Lord to enjoy and live in that eternal attribute of the Father. True love is more than a feeling, it is a lifestyle. He who loves has been born of God, because God is love and his love will be perfected in us by the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Longing to know and feel that true love, more than a desire, must be a constant request.

Morning 1 Corinthians 13:1-7
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Noon Psalm 68:1-10
1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Evening Deuteronomy 7:6-8
6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

This month's challenge is: Think before you judge or act. Ask yourself at all times: how would I want to be treated if I were in that condition? Always remember Jesus' advice: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged: condemn not, and you will not be condemned: forgive, and you will be forgiven." Luke 6:36,37
